FOSTER

At Eunoia Rescue, we rely entirely on foster families to help us in our mission to save lives. We do not have a facility to house our dogs, and every dog that comes into Eunoia Rescue stays in a foster home until they are adopted. Fostering is not only a crucial part of rescue, it is one of the most rewarding experiences.

We are in constant need of foster families! We always have a wide variety of dogs– different sizes, ages, breeds and personalities — and we are sure we can provide the perfect match for our fosters.

While fostering you do not have to spend any of your own money on the foster dog, unless you want to! We will provide any needed supplies, and always cover all of the dogs medical expenses. All we ask from our foster families is that you provide the dog a loving and safe environment in which they can grow and get ready for adoption.

If you are interested in fostering for Eunoia Rescue, please follow the following steps:

1. Fill out the foster application form below.

2. Once you've been approved, you will sign a foster contract that holds you responsible for taking care of your foster pet while in your care.

3. Then, we will add you to our Eunoia Rescue Foster & Volunteer Facebook Page where you can be notified of medical appointments, events, updates, and meet the rest of the Eunoia Village!

4. Last, we will set you up with a time to pick up your foster dog. Upon picking up your foster dog, you will need to have their Eunoia Rescue purple collar, leash & Eunoia Rescue ID tag worn at all times while under your care.

When introducing your foster pet to any other pets in your home, please do so in a neutral area and with positive reinforcement. Please allow your foster dog to decompress in your home for 5-7 days as they are in a very new environment and often times confused.

Where will this dog be kept when you are not at home?
Where will this dog be kept when you are at home?

I understand that I am to allow my foster pet a 24-48 hour period of decompression when it first arrives to my home. I understand that this is to allow the foster pet time to get used to the sounds and smells of the house without being over-stimulated by the hustle and bustle in my home. I understand that this is a crucial part of the pet’s rehabilitation, especially if coming directly from a shelter environment.

I understand that although Eunoia Rescue takes reasonable care to screen animals for foster care placement, it makes no guarantee relating to the animals’ health, behavior or actions. I understand that I receive foster care animals at my own risk. I indemnify and hold the Eunoia Rescue and all of its employees and board members free and harmless from all liability arising out of any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, action, judgment of every kind and description which may occur to or be suffered by me, members of my household, my own animals, my household, or any third parties by reason of activities arising out of this agreement. I release Eunoia Rescue from responsibility for any diseases that may be contracted by my resident animal(s) from the foster animal.

I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the above-mentioned policies. The above statements are true to the best of my knowledge.
